Week #14: The Elderly in Online Communities

For our final on 13 December, you get to teach.

Select one area of topical concern for the elderly and discuss how the online elderly community is educated about the subject, what kinds of resources exist unique to the elderly community, what organizations are related to the area, and find (and discuss) 7-10 web locations (including non-web community resources like blogs and mailing lists and groups) that illustrate your point.

This presentation should be polished and rehersed; each presentation should be approximately 15 minutes long.

Why, yes, this is your final exam.

For November 29,  please complete the assignment on Cyberfaith.

Week 9: Sexual Preference and Practice Online

Please complete the assignment on Gay Marriage: the online controversy.

Week 6: Building Online Communities

Please complete the assignment on Tools for Building the Virtual Community.

 

Week 4: The Minority Report

Your second paper assignment deals with online voting, and asks you if you think the idea is ready for Prime(ary) Time.

 


Week 2: Digital Democracy

Your first paper assignment is now connected, and it asks you to look at the effectiveness of political web sites in drumming up support to win their party's nomination. It is due in two weeks.
