CJN 721:   Paper #4

This paper assignment asks that you explore the issues and concerns about keeping children safe in cyberspace.   The hard part about researching and writing this work may well be sifting through the cacophony of available materials.

Please research this issue and include in your discussion:

• How extensive the problem of child safety in cyberspace is believed to be.
• General issues of concern in this regard:  it’s not all about sexual predators.  So what do the experts believe is needed for “safe surfing” for children?
• Look at some of the problems and their solutions, including the software solutions that have been instituted to protect kids.  How effective are these solutions? 
• Finally, explore the probable issues for the next decade or so and what can be done to help protect kids.  (Do you believe, for instance, that legislation is useful? Parental controls? Better education? Some combination? Things not on this list?)

Please keep your paper to a maximum of 6 pages.
