Final Project
Checksheet
This page contains details and
links to all information which should be included on your pages. There
are oodles of graphical images, links, and sound files attached, and the
remainder will be up by Wednesday. Enjoy.
- Page information (please
do not use SSIs or CGI scripts)
- Splash page with filename
index.html
- Page with filename
world.html which includes information about world-wide SETI programs
and sites
- Page with filename
history.html which includes information about the history of SETI programs
- Page with filename
hunt.html which includes a minimum 20-question SETI Scavenger Hunt
- Page with filename
radio.html which includes information on Radio Astronomy
- Graphical images:
a minimum of 10 graphical images should be used with this site.
- Background/color:
a background image should be used with the splash page. Inside
pages may use either that same background image or may use color.
Please note that only one background image should be used on your
site, and if interior pages are set as colored-background (rather than background
image) pages, they should all use the same color.
- Text color:
text colors should be readable on the background image or color. Link,
active link, and visited link colors should all be readable on the background
image or color.
- Link descriptions:
all links (20) should be clearely described/explained so that visitors
who click on these links will know what they will find at the other end.
- Scavenger hunt: the
scavenger hunt questions (20) should include the answer (either on another
page or at the bottom of the page on which the questions appear) and a link
for more information with each. (Please note that these links are not
included in the total number of links needed on the site.)
- Email links: Remember
to incorporate email links to yourself and the site owners.
- Copyright: Be
sure to copyright the pages.
- Sound clips:
any incorporated sound clips should be kept to a fairly minimal size, and
it is very useful for you to include a note about how big the file is for
the person clicking on the link.
- Details:
all pages should be titled in a headline fashion (remember that page title
and file name are two different things), with words capitalized and spelled
correctly. Meta-tags may be used. Unusual fonts may be used only
if the material is saved in graphical format. All files should be
saved to the same floppy and turned in. Be sure to verify all links.
